Jason Reynolds, who is a New York Times best-selling author, has brilliantly carved himself to author original novels and poetry. As a National Book Award Finalist for Young People’s Literature for his body of work, ‘Ghost’, Reynolds’ inspiration curls from rap music to apposition his stance for poetry writing.
As a recipient of NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work for Youth/Teen on his bookshelf and a Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe Award for New Talent in his pocket, Reynolds’ target population for his writings are both young adults and middle-grades.
In January, 2020, Reynolds was appointed the The National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, a role initiated to raise awareness of the importance of young people’s literature with respect to literacy, education and the development of young people.
He Published his first novel in 2014, ‘When I Was The Greatest’, the adept novelist had since moved on to produce a list more of books in the following years which include ‘As Brave As You’, ‘Patina’, ‘Spider-Man’, and ‘Sunny’.
The exuberant writer came back to his poetic muse with ‘Long Way Down’ which won him the Newbery Honor.
Reynolds is the co-writer of the best-selling, ‘All American Boys’, a novel inspired by the national firestorm over police brutality. It tells the story of two kids in high school, one black and one white, whose lives are forever changed by an act of extreme police brutality.
