Richard Ayodele Makun, popularly known as AY, is a Nigerian comedian, actor, and producer. He had his bachelorβs degree in Theatre Arts from Delta State University, Abraka.
AY came to limelight through becoming Alibabaβs personal assistant and event manager. He later went ahead to become a columnist in writing The Sun Newspaper and Gbenga Adeyinkaβs laugh.
Going ahead in his showbiz career, AY directed and acted in one of Nigeriaβs comedy series, AYβs crib with the likes of Buchi Franklin, Alex Ekubo, Venita Akpofure. He is also the host one of Africaβs largest comedy show, AY Live Shows, which parades the best of comedians like Helen Paul, Bovi, Basketmouth, Akpororo and other comedians. AY is the chief executive officer of Corporate World Entertainment, Nigeria, and also a host of AY comedy skits.
AY has been an entertainment influencer and investor in stand-up comedians by making way for upcoming comedians to have a clearer direction onto stardom through his AY βOpen Mic Challengeβ.
His debut movie, β30 Days in Atlantaβ was produced by him, and the movie recognized as one of the films with the highest domestic gross in Bollywood, Nollywood. and Hollywood, thereby officially being recognized by the 2017 Guinness World Records. This great stride from AY has made him to feature in comedy-action movies such as The Wedding Party, 10 Days in Sun City, A Trip to Jamaica, Merry Men, among others.
AY was made a U.N Peace Ambassador in 2009 after winning six awards in 2008. He had many awards and recognitions added to his medal cart.
