Bosun Tijani is considered one of the most important people in African tech. He started his career in 2003 as a Business Development Manager at DeliveryKing. He then worked for Hewlett Packard (HP) Global Micro-enterprises Acceleration Programme (GMEAP) for about a year as Deployment Lead (Africa).
Nairametrics says that while he was there, he was running the model learning center at the Africa Virtual University in Kenya and getting the HP, IEEE, and University of Ibadan telecenters up and running in Nigeria.
The Nigerian also worked as an ICT Consultant at the International Trade Centre (UNCTAD/WTO) and as a Project Manager for INNOTEX. He was also an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, where his research focused on applied digital epidemiology.

Tijani didn’t decide to take steps toward becoming an entrepreneur until 2010. He and Femi Longe started Co-creation HUB (CcHUB), which is Nigeria’s first open living lab and pre-incubation space. Its website says that it is designed to be a space where work is done to jumpstart creative social tech ventures.
Co-creation HUB is a place where technologists, social entrepreneurs, government, tech companies, impact investors, and hackers in and around Lagos can work together to find new ways to solve Nigeria’s many social problems.
TechCabal says that tech companies like TechCabal, Fora, Andela, and TechPoint had their first ideas at CcHUB, hired their first employees there, or used the space there in their early years.
Tijani said about the CcHUB, “We wanted a platform to help ordinary young Nigerians with ideas who think they can solve a problem.” TechCabal reported that this is what the CcHUB is.
After CcHUB bought iHub in 2019, Tijani took over running the largest tech network in Africa. TechCrunch says that this made him the CEO of both groups, including their startup incubators and venture capital activities from Nigeria to Kenya.
“The size of the CcHub/iHub nexus will also be used to make more partnerships. Tijani and his team have already figured out how to work with big tech companies in Africa and around the world, like MainOne and Facebook, the news source said at the time.
Tijani was born on July 20, 1977. He has a diploma in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Jos. In 2003, he took a course called Venture in Management at the Lagos Business School, Accenture, and Junior Achievement.
Tijani also has an MSc in Information Systems and Management from the Warwick Business School. He did the Innovation for Economic Development executive program at the Harvard Kennedy School, and he just got a Ph.D. in Innovation and Economic Development from the University of Leicester.
