It is no doubt that numerous artistes had worked through the music space of Nigeria entertainment industry. Some made it big and quietly faded into the background, while some struggled to acquire fame until they gave up.
However, there are some musicians who may have left but they’re still making waves in a different industry.
Here are one-time Nigerian music sensations and their present job descriptions.

Banky W
Banky has veered away from the music industry to focus on his political career.
He had launched his acting career before he dissolved his record label, E.M.E, turning it to a talent management company in 2018.
Aside from aspiring to become a political figure in Nigeria, Banky W is gracing the movie screen by starring in box office movies like The Wedding Party, Up North, Sugar Rush, among others.
Olubankole Wellington retired from music when he wanted to run for office in the House of Representative, but he remains active in the music industry – away from the mainstream media. He is also a gospel minister/ senior pastor of My Water Brook, a church in Lagos.
In November 2019, he announced that he plans to make a comeback with an album this year.

Naeto C

In 2015, he faded into the background quietly, and many of his fans wondered if he’d ever come back.
Naetochukwu Chikwe was appointed as a Special Adviser, Lagos Liaison, of the Imo State Government in 2019.
Recently, Naeto C had a face off with M.I. Abaga in IG live session to delight his fans.

Ikechukwu
Ikechukwu Onunaku is still quite relevant in the Nigerian music industry, but away from the spotlight. Many have not heard new releases from him.
In the early 2000s, Ikechukwu’s name was on everybody’s lips. Especially after he released his song, “My Name is Ikechukwu.”
He seemed to go down with the Mo’Hits crew when the record label dissolved.
Afterwards, we started seeing him on the screens again, but as an actor this time.
He has starred in several movies like “The Wedding Party”, “Your Excellency”, “Gbomo Gbomo Express”, “When Love Comes Calling”, and more.
Scrolling through Ikechukwu’s feed on social media will give you a feel that the artist still remains a true rapper at heart.

eLDee
From the early 2000s to 2012, eLDee was a staple across TV screens and radio stations.
The Nigerian rapper was popular for his rhythms and wholesome lyrics.
He collaborated with other artistes during this period, with the likes of Banky W, D’banj, 9ice, and more.
However, while everyone was still enjoying his songs eLDee made the decision to quit the music scene.
Some people thought he might come back but we’ve been waiting for years and eLDee seems to love being away from the music industry.
In an interview with Punch newspaper, he explained that he’s making more money now than when he was a musician.
Today, he is an IT consultant based in the United States. He also has a podcast where he talks about being a Nigerian-American.

Kas Beats
Kas Beats was very popular for his “Fimile” song.
You’ve most likely heard it in a throwback playlist, and asked yourself where Kas is now.
Well, he is still quite active in the music industry, but not on mainstream media.
Kas Beats is now an evangelist, who uses his music to preach the gospel.
In an interview with the Punch newspaper, he explained that he hosts seminars and outreaches to ensure that the message of Jesus is passed across.
