Woman Crush Wednesday (WCW): Adenike Oshinowo

Adenike Asabi Oshinowo is a Nigerian entrepreneur with a gleaming touch of fashion as a one time pageant director.

Born in Ibadan, Oyo State in 1966, Oshinowo had her first degree in Political Science from the University of Essex, England. Her exuberance in beauty and fashion came alive when she emerged as the winner of the 1990 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria beauty pageant, and was crowned as Miss Nigeria. This whooping win for Oshinowo made her to become the first Yoruba girl folk to achieve the plausible feat. 

In furtherance of her road to stardom, Oshinowo took to the global stage of representing Nigeria at the Miss World beauty pageant, and with her being the ravishing face of beauty commercials. 

Her business enterprise sprang from owning an African restaurant and Skin Deep (a health and beauty spa). Oshinowo has always been the face of media with her impeccable strides of imprinting beauty essence anywhere she finds herself. In 2010, she released the workout video “Nike Oshinowo: Fit, Forty and Fabulous”, which was the first celebrity fitness DVD produced in the Nigeria.

The mother of twins can eloquently speak five languages (Yoruba, English, Spanish, French, and Japanese).

Oshinowo is currently working on the beauty products which will include frangrance, skincare, and haircare. She is the chief executive and creative director of AOE Events & Entertainment Ltd.
