Her Excellency, Amb. Ijeoma Chinonyerem Obiezu is a Nigerian politician and philanthropic. She is currently Nigeria’s ambassador to the Republic of Ireland and a holder of concurrent accreditation to Iceland.
Born in Imo State, Southeast Nigeria, the avid passion of Amb. Obiezu to serve as a source of hope and happiness inspired her to delve into politics in Nigeria. This gave her the leverage to impact lives that cross her path, with a soft spot for the underserved people in society.
As a woman who has been able to make an indelible stamp in the male-dominating purview of politics in Nigeria, Amb. Obiezu is widely reputed as a ‘woman inspiring women’ who has used her political simplicity and ingenuity to inspire women aspiring to become leaders.

The grassroots politician holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Language with post-graduate studies in International Relations in view.
In recognition of her remarkable contributions to the development of Imo State and Nigeria at large, which includes front-lining the movement for more inclusivity of women in politics, Amb. Obiezu, popularly called Igolo Nwanyi, is a recipient of several awards, notable of which are “Golden Mother” and “Ugomba”.
