Hebru Brantley: Designer Of The First-Ever Artist Bottle For Bombay Sapphire To Support BLM

by Duke Magazine

Hebru Brantley, a Chicago artist has recently imprinted his name onto limelight with his mural-style, futuristic work. Mainly, his motifs center on his signature characters Flyboy and Lil Momma, inspired by Tuskegee Airmen. Now, he’s bringing his creative imagination to Bombay Sapphire.

According to reports, the world’s best premium gin has announced its collaboration with Brantley for its first-ever artist-designed bottle in North America. The limited-edition bottle, a blue-toned glass featuring various characters from the Hebru Brand universe will benefit the Chicago chapter of Black Lives Matter.

“When you create something unique like this, you want it to inspire hope for a better future and shine a light on the courage and resilience of Black people in America,” Brantley said. “It felt only right that Bombay Sapphire and I were able to do this together to benefit Black Lives Matter Chicago, to support the critical work they do in fighting for racial justice in my hometown.”

Before this partnership, Brantley began his relationship with Bombay Sapphire in 2011 after qualifying as a finalist for the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series, a nationwide search for rising visual artists.

“We are honored that our first artist edition is with Hebru Brantley, whose work we have admired and supported for a long time,” said Tom Spaven, North America Brand Director for the gin brand. “Art has the power to create change, but this is just a small step. We recognize that we can and will implement more long-term initiatives to champion marginalized voices in the creative arts — a mission that has never been more critical than it is now.”

The Bombay Sapphire Hebru Brantley Limited Edition bottle is available in some selected states in the United States.
