Ludacris, born Christopher Brian Bridges, has been able to carve a distinct niche for himself, as he started his rap music at a young age when he was studying Music Management at Georgia State University. He also did his internship at a radio station, Atlanta’s local station Hot 97.5. “As an intern, I basically was helping the morning show prep, so you know, I kind of understood the fundamentals of radio and that’s where I learned everything. But, at the same time, once I got off the air, I actually still had a job at Pizza Hut,” he stated this during an exclusive interview about his career in entertainment.
Ludacris’ diligence and determination had poised for him efficiency and effectiveness. He would go on to put his stamp on the music industry with his own label, ‘Disturbing Tha Peace’, and his style of rap that, many times, was equal parts crunk, comedy, and eroticism. Ludacris, who is today a rapper, actor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, has been a recipient of major trophies from the Grammys, MTV Music Video Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, and he even has a Country Music Award for his feature on Carrie Underwood’s “The Champion.”
Ludacris’ Verzuz battle up against Nelly is scheduled to hit the virtual stage this Saturday, May 16, on Instagram Live. The social media rap battle series is parading music’s greatest going head-to-head in a live battle, as creators Swizz Beatz and Timbaland keep score with the rest of the notable judges in the comment section. Just recently, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott got away with wigs in the first female Verzuz battle.
