At eight feet two inches tall, Bradley Marongo is impossible to overlook. Known across Kenya as the ‘Gen Z Goliath’, the 27-year-old content creator and actor has turned his remarkable stature into a platform, but his journey to fame is as grounded as it is extraordinary.
Before the viral videos and brand deals, Marongo worked as a matatu conductor in Nairobi, earning a modest daily wage of around 300 shillings to support his family. He has spoken candidly about the practical difficulties of his height: he cannot use aeroplane washrooms, struggles to find shoes or clothes in his size, and requires almost everything to be custom-made.
He has also confirmed that his marriage ended before his rise to fame, with his former partner leaving during a period of financial hardship. He is a father to two daughters.
His breakthrough came during the 2024 Finance Bill protests, when a video of his towering presence at the demonstrations went viral, earning him the nickname that would come to define his public image.
Since then, he has secured ambassadorial roles with car dealerships including Khushi Motors and Robimax Auto Trading, as well as a partnership with Mobile Hub Kenya. A fully paid promotional trip to Dubai followed, courtesy of Zam Zam Electronics. In February 2025, he joined the cast of Mkasi, a drama series on Maisha Magic Plus.
Through it all, Marongo has remained disarmingly candid about the life that was never built to fit him, embracing an identity that Kenyans have warmly reciprocated with a fierce sense of national pride.
