Abdulgafar Ahmad Oluwatoyin, better known as Cute Abiola, is a Nigerian comedian, actor, and online content creator who has become a household name through his popular comedy skits. Born on 28 April 1996 in Ilorin, Kwara State, his journey from the military barracks to the top of Nigeria’s entertainment industry is a story of resilience and dedication.
Before finding fame as a skit maker, Cute Abiola served as a Sub Lieutenant in the Nigerian Navy, a career he began in 2018. He often worked up to six days a week while still managing to shoot and post content online, a period he has described as the most challenging phase of his life.
His ability to balance two demanding worlds demonstrated an extraordinary work ethic that would later define his entertainment career.
His rise to prominence began in 2015 when he started creating comedic content on Instagram. However, it was his character ‘Lawyer Kunle’ that truly made him a household name.
His following grew significantly after a video supporting Big Brother Naija housemate Bisola went viral. Today, he boasts over five million followers on Instagram and has collaborated with other top skit makers in Nigeria.
His career has not been without controversy. In November 2021, he was arrested and detained by the Nigerian Navy for breaching the Armed Forces Social Media Policy after posting photos in his military uniform. He was reportedly made to oversee gutter cleaning in the barracks for a month as punishment. He eventually left the Navy in November 2022 to focus fully on his entertainment career.
Shortly after leaving the Navy, he was appointed as Special Assistant on Creative Industries to the Governor of Kwara State. He is married to Kudirat Mosunmola, and the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in May 2026. They have two sons.
In June 2026, Cute Abiola publicly apologised to former First Lady Patience Jonathan for jokes made years earlier about her emotional reaction to the 2014 Chibok schoolgirls’ abduction. In a heartfelt post, he admitted that her tears were not weakness but humanity, sparking conversations about how she was treated during one of Nigeria’s most tragic moments.
