Established on October 22, 1960, the National Order of the Lion is a distinguished honour in Senegal, bestowed for exceptional contributions in both civil and military domains. This prestigious order, one of the two national orders in Senegal, stands alongside the Order of Merit, signifying the recognition of individuals who have demonstrated remarkable achievements and service to the nation.
