Nigerian filmmaker Femi Odugbemi has been selected to join the International Engagement Committee of the Academy, a prestigious role that will see him contribute to shaping the Academy’s global outreach efforts. The committee’s key responsibilities include overseeing the membership process, governance, and initiatives aimed at expanding the Academy’s influence worldwide.
Odugbemi’s appointment will last for one year, concluding on June 30, 2025. During this period, he will work alongside an international team of industry professionals to advance the Academy’s mission of fostering inclusivity in the global film community. The committee is scheduled to meet virtually three times over the year, with sessions planned for mid-October, February, and April, accommodating members from different regions.
