Emmanuel Wanyonyi, a Kenyan middle-distance runner born in 2004, has rapidly ascended the ranks of international athletics. Specializing in the 800 meters, he clinched the gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics, solidifying his status as one of the sport’s elite.
In 2025, Wanyonyi showcased his versatility by winning the 1500 meters at the Grand Slam Track event in Kingston, Jamaica, defeating several Olympic medalists.
