Nigerian hiphop star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido is putting in his very best to help fight the ravaging coronavirus pandemic.
The internationally recognized released his music video “Dolce & Gabbana” on Friday, April 24 2020, and he also made it known to the public that the proceeds from the music video will be committed into supporting the Italian fashion company, Dolce & Gabbana, and also the Humanitas University’s Coronavirus Research Fund to fight the pandemic.
Davido has been personally passionate about helping to fight this scourge, since his fiancée, Chioma, tested positive to the virus.
During an interview feature on an American news channel, CNN, the entertainer while speaking with entertainment reporter, Chloe Melas, opened up about his collaboration with Italian luxury fashion house, Dolce and Gabbana.
“I was on tour, she was in London with my son. When we all came back to Nigeria, we were, like, because we have travel history, I think it’s best we get tested,” he told CNN in an interview. “We had no symptoms. Nobody in the house had symptoms. Out of all 34 of us that got tested, she was the only one that came out positive, which was crazy to us.”
His fiancée has since about two weeks now tested negative twice to the virus, and which has made her to be free from the infection without any further trace of symptoms exhibited by her.
Davido, also reiterates he and his family’s commitment in providing relief supports, both in cash and food stuffs to help bring succor to the vulnerable at this trying time of global health crises.
“People are really going through a hard time,” he continued. “This is the first time something like this has paused the whole world. A lot of people out here make money from day to day, like, surviving day to day pay. That’s not possible because we all have to stay inside.”
