Temie Giwa-Tubosun is a Nigerian health manager. She is the founder and CEO of LifeBank, a platform that makes blood available when and where it is needed in Nigeria to save lives.
LifeBank mobilizes blood donations, takes inventory of all blood available in the country, and delivers blood in the right condition to the point of need.
In 2014, the BBC listed her as one of the 100 Women changing the world and was recognized as an African Innovator by Quartz and the World Economic Forum.
In 2019 Temie Giwa-Tubosun walked away with the top $250,000 cash prize from the $1 million available from the Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative by Chinese billionaire Jack Ma.
Temie Giwa-Tubosun studied International Public Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. She has over 10 years of health management experience with the Department for International Development (DFID), World Health Organization, UNDP, and the Lagos State Government.
In 2020, Avance Media ranked her among the 100 Most Influential Young Nigerians.
She was listed in the second publication of 100 Most Influential African Women in 2020 by Avance Media. The 35-year-old health entrepreneur was awarded the Global Citizen Prize for Business Leader, for her work in addressing blood shortages in Nigeria, and LifeBank’s work during the pandemic.
