Two years following its debut, Rema’s album ‘Raves & Roses’ achieves diamond certification from SNEP, marking a significant milestone in its journey. SNEP announced the achievement on March 25, 2023, as the album surpasses 500,000 units in sales.

Released in March 2022, ‘Raves & Roses’ captivated audiences after teasing with singles like ‘Soundgasm’ and ‘Calm Down’. Its enduring success owes much to the groundbreaking performance of ‘Calm Down’, particularly the Selena Gomez remix, which propelled the track to global acclaim.

Boasting unprecedented achievements, ‘Calm Down’ made history as the first Afrobeats song to surpass 1 billion Spotify streams. Its music video also shattered records, accumulating over 830 million views on YouTube, a feat unparalleled in Nigerian music history. Furthermore, the song’s sustained presence on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 3 and charting for over 52 weeks, solidifies its status as a cultural phenomenon.

The diamond certification in France adds another accolade to ‘Calm Down’s’ remarkable journey, joining the ranks of other Afrobeats hits like Burna Boy’s ‘On The Low’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’, Oxlade’s ‘Kulosa’, and CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’. Moreover, with ‘Raves & Roses’ earning the prestigious SNEP diamond certification, it follows in the footsteps of Burna Boy’s ‘African Giant’ as only the second Nigerian album to achieve France’s highest honor, further cementing Rema’s position as a global music sensation.
