Odion Ighalo makes history as first Nigerian to play for Manchester United

ODION IGHALO made history as the first Nigerian to play for Manchester United following his debut against Chelsea in a premier league tie on Monday night, February 17 at Stamford Bridge. He is also the 200th player to make an appearance for the Red Devils in the premier league.

With Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s men lead 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, Ighalo was introduced as a 90th minute substitute for the United front winger Anthony Martial. The ex Nigerian International made his way back to the premier league having joined the Red Devils from Shanghai Shenhuan in China on a six-month deal. It was a dream come true night for the Nigerian, because he has always aspired to play in the red and white jersey of the United, even while playing on the streets of Ajegunle, Lagos in Red Devils’
