Excellence is not a milestone feat that is achieved on a platter of idleness or mediocrity. It is a culmination of diligence, integrity, and consistency to stay unique in the multitude.
Across the globe, Black men are undeterred in staying committed to making an indelible imprint of success in all facets of human endeavor. The strength of a Black man lies in his resilience to break stereotypes, rewrite history, and change the narratives that would, in turn, lay legacies of excellence for the millennials and other generations to come.
It is to this end that Duke International Magazine, in this edition, is celebrating two quintessence of Black excellence who have hoisted African glory in the field of marketing and business. For many years, they have been able to hone their skills with remarkable success in this purview, while being pathfinders for younger generations.
Lampe Omoyele: A Highly Cerebral Marketing Strategist
Lampe Omoyele is a Nigerian marketing executive and entrepreneur. He is currently Managing Director at Nitro 121, one of West Africa’s leading marketing communication and brand management companies, and Partner, Lucent Consulting Company.
He has received numerous awards, including the Marketing Society of Kenya’s Warrior Award for his significant contribution to the development of marketing in Kenya in 2008; Chartered Marketer (UK) status in 2009; and the NIMN’s Achievers award in 2010. (2011).
Omoyele is a director of several businesses and non-profit organizations and an adjunct faculty member at the Orange Academy and Pan-Atlantic University in Lagos, Nigeria, where he teaches marketing strategy. He is also a member of the Gerson Lehrman Group’s (GLG) council, a leading global expert network that provides independent consulting services to business professionals throughout the world.

Yinka Akande: A Prolific Business Leader
Yinka Akande is a Nigerian marketing specialist. He is currently the managing director of Dangote Industries Free Zone Development Company (DIFZDC). He is the former Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN).
Akande is a 1985 graduate of the then-University of Ife (now OAU) who was honored in September 2007 as an Officer of Great Ife (OGI), the University’s National Alumni Association’s distinguished alumnus award.
