Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, a seasoned executive with nearly three decades of experience in banking, has led First Bank Nigeria Limited as CEO for three successful terms. Prior to his CEO role, he served as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of the FirstBank Group. Adeduntan’s journey in finance began with notable positions at Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), Citibank Nigeria Limited, KPMG Professional Services, and Arthur Andersen Nigeria.
Educationally, Adeduntan holds a Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Cranfield University Business School, UK, where he was a Chevening Scholar. He has also enriched his leadership skills through programs at renowned institutions like Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford, and INSEAD. Furthermore, he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Ibadan.
Adeduntan’s influence extends beyond the banking sector. He serves as a Director of Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), Nigeria Interbank Settlement System PLC (NIBSS), and FMDQ OTC Securities Exchange. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
Throughout his career, Adeduntan has garnered numerous accolades, including Forbes Best of Africa – Outstanding Leader in Africa and African Banker of the Year. He has also been recognized by institutions like the School of Management, Cranfield University, and the University of Ibadan.
Outside of finance, Adeduntan is dedicated to social impact. He is involved with organizations like the Bretton Woods Committee, the Sigma Educational Foundation, and the Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) in Nigeria. Additionally, he contributes to the Board of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, focusing on initiatives for the betterment of society.
