Temitope Aina Oshin is a Nigerian television and film director. She had a foray into art by bagging a degree in Theatre Arts, TV & Film Production from Lagos State University. Oshin started her career as an actress for over a decade before delving into the majors of film directing. Today, the delectable Tope Oshin is amongst the topnotch movie directors paraded on the script to screen scene of entertainment in Nigeria.
The keen enthusiasm of Tope Oshin for theatre art poised her to attend Colorado Film School of the Community College of Aurora, Denver and Met Film School, Ealing Studios, London to study Film Production and Cinematography respectively. She has been the brain behind several intriguing productions shaping the Nollywood space of entertainment in Nigeria. Notable of her works are ‘Shuga’, ‘Up North’, ‘Fifty’, ‘Tinsel’, ‘The Wedding Party 2’, and other great productions.
Tope Oshin has been able to waive off the disparity of working in a male-dominated field of film directing by carving out a distinct niche of extraordinaire in her works. She is an electrifying face of woman in excellence for several media outlets and NGOs on her immense contributions to the growth of Nollywood, and also as an inspiration to many aspiring female film makers. As a great influencer in the entertainment discourse of Nigeria, the mother of four is a recipient for scores of awards, nominations, and honors.
She won the Best Director of The Year at the 2018 Best of Nollywood Awards for the movie ‘We Don’t Live Here Anymore’. From 2015 till date, Tope Oshin is serving as a juror for the International Emmy Award.
In 2018, Tope was celebrated by OkayAfrica as one of the Okay100 Women. She is the CEO of Sunbow Productions.
