Pele’s burial set for Monday, Tuesday

Pele’s funeral has been scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

According to a statement released by the Santos football club (Pelé’s old team) on Thursday, “The wake for the greatest footballer of all time will be held in Urbano Caldeira Stadium, better known as the Vila Belmiro, where he enchanted the world,” Pele would thereafter get a funeral procession through the streets of the city before a private burial ceremony.

The coffin of Pele, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 82, will be positioned in the middle of the field asAt it is transported from the Albert Einstein Hospital to Estádio Urbano Caldeira in Vila Belmiro on Monday morning. At 10am, the wake is anticipated to start.

People who want to honor the King of Football in their final moments should enter through two separate gates from politicians and other officials.

The celebration will go on until 10 am on Tuesday, January 3, when the parade will go through Santos’ streets, according to a Daily Mail UK story.

Before going to the Ecumenical Necropolis Memorial for the exclusive family burial, it will travel by Canal 6, where Pele’s mother Celeste, who is 100 years old, resides.

Pele, who had been ill since late November, passed away at age 82 after a protracted fight with colon cancer.

Pele’s daughter, Kely Nascimento, confirmed his passing in a social media post, writing: “Everything we are is thanks to you. We love you infinitely. Rest in peace.”
