Abovi Ugboma, popularly known as Bovi is a Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. He is notable for using observational and satirical genres of comedy to make an entertaining show that touches down on topical issues like Nigerian culture, Nigerian politics, and marriage.
Born in 1979, Bovi began his showbiz career starring in his written and produced sitcom, Extended Family in 2007. Gaining momentum into limelight from the success of the sitcom, Bovi finally rose to fame of comedy following his rib-cracking performance at the Nite of 1000 laughs organized by Opa Williams in 2008.
For over a decade, Bovi has been a reckoned force in the mainstream of comedy in Nigeria. He has been able to achieve milestone feats through his annual comedy showdown, Bovi- Man on Fire, which has been held in Nigeria and world cities like London, Melbourne, Toronto, etc.
Dubbing as an actor, Bovi has starred in some Nigerian movies like My Village People, a 2021 comedy movie he wrote. The 41-year-old comedian holds a degree in theatre arts from Delta State University.
