Following a temporary break caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Inspiro Productions, the organizers of the biennial Lagos International Jazz Festival (LIJF), has confirmed the jazz fiesta’s dates for this year as of April 29 and 30, 2022. The festival, which was last held live in 2019 and virtually in 2021, will restart live performances and will also be webcast to viewers all over the world.
“We are pleased that we can once again begin live performances and the staging of Nigeria’s top jazz festival – The Lagos International Jazz Festival despite all the hurdles we faced,” said Ayoola Sadare, LIJF’s founder and festival director, in a statement. Our objective of promoting Lagos, Nigeria as a flourishing worldwide Jazz tourism destination alongside cities in Africa and throughout the world such as Cape Town, Montreal, Montreux, New Orleans, London, and Tokyo remains on track. We appreciate the time and effort put in by all of the artists, sponsors, and supporters, both now and in the past, to make this happen. They have promised the same high-quality production and musician lineup that they have enjoyed in the past.”
