Happy birthday to Williams “Smokey” Robinson Jr. as he clocks 80 today, February 19.
Smokey Robinson, (born on the 19th February 1940) is notable for his scintillating and lullabied music in R and B, Soul and Pop genres. Smokey, as he is nicknamed has been active in the touch point of music from 1955 unto the present moment with several awards and accolades to pride in. He won his first Grammy Award for the Grammy Award for Best Male R and B Vocal Performance in1988, and which augurs him well into being inducted to the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 1989. Smokey, also got an induction into the Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. These, among other awards and recognitions Smokey won.
