Meet Gbenga Ezekiel the Secondary School Pupil Guinness Book of Record Breaker

A Senior Secondary School called Gbenga Ezekiel With the most skips on one leg in 60 seconds, one student from Ijapo High School in Akure, Ondo State, has established a new Guinness World Record. The gifted teen beat Rasel Islam of Bangladesh’s previous record of 262 skips by performing 265 jumps.

Four months after his effort at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, Ezekiel’s accomplishment was acknowledged. Chubuisi Ukandu, the national coach of the Nigeria Rope Skipping Federation, was informed of the accomplishment, which has since been recorded on the Guinness World Records website.

Ezekiel expressed his joy and thanked his coach for introducing him to rope skipping. “I am very happy to have achieved this feat. I want to thank my coach for introducing me to rope skipping and helping me to develop my skills,” he said.

Ezekiel not only broke the record but also made history by becoming the first rope skipper from Africa, the first Nigerian, and the first athlete from Ondo State to win a Guinness World Records title. This outstanding accomplishment has elevated the young Nigerian to a global level and is evidence of his perseverance and commitment to his sport.

It takes tremendous skill, agility, and stamina to achieve the difficult Guinness World Record for the most skips on one leg in 60 seconds. For other young people in Nigeria and around the world who might be interested in rope skipping or other sports, Ezekiel’s accomplishment serves as an example.
