Duke’s Man Crush Monday: Hakeem Kae-Kazim

Hakeem Kae-Kazim was born on October 1,1962 in Lagos, Nigeria to an accountant mother and an engineer father.

 

Hakeem is a British-Nigerian actor. He is currently starring as Zeus in the BBC fantasy series Troy: Fall of a City. He is an appointed global ambassador for Africa 2.0, a civil society organisation providing a platform for emerging and established African leaders to ensure the continuity of transformation of Africa.

 

Hakeem spent his early years in Lagos before he relocated with his family to London, England.

 

He started his acting career with school plays and The National Youth Theatre. He became quite interested in acting and proceeded to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He graduated in 1987. He was later offered a space with The Royal Shakespeare Company and he continued his training there.

 

“Man with a Beautiful Voice” as often referred to has done quite a number of voiceover work for television, radio even video games such as, Final Fantasy XIV, Halo 3 ODST, Halo: Reach, Guild Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, The Golden Compass and The Saboteur. According to him, voiceover is “a lot of fun”, and something he enjoys doing.

 

Hakeem is a native of Ogun State, Nigeria.

 

He got married to Bronwny on January 14, 2000 and their union is blessed with three girls.
