Mr. Wale Kadeba: Road and Structural Engineer

Wale Kadeba is a well trained and experienced road and structural engineer. He has been a chartered engineer in Ireland since May 2004 till present. In addition to project management, procurement management, value engineering management, and construction supervision and monitoring, he has worked on a variety of projects in a variety of capacities at various stages.

He has experience as a principal on preliminary design, leddetai design, and tender of bridge structures on significant highway and railway schemes, as well as in presentation of Design and Build tender documents, Technical Reviews of contractors’ design submissions, contract administration, and project monitoring in Ireland and the UK. Wale Kadeba bagged Postgraduate Research, Engineering Management at Trinity College Dublin between 2005 – 2006.

Prior to this, he obtained a MSc and Certification in Advance Project Management in year 2000.
Between 1999-2000, he obtained MSc, International Construction Management and Engineering from the University of Leeds.
Speaking on Wale’s expertise and leadership skills Nagpal Kontagale described Wale as a “very good manager who understands the strategic need of the project, which points to stress on and how to manage staff and resource. While working with him I always found him supportive and resourceful.”

H.E. Dauda Lawal: Zamfara State Governor

In Gusau, Zamfara State, on September 2, 1965, Dauda Lawal was born into a modest family with a strong reputation in the textile sector. He is the incoming governor of the state of Zamfara and a politician from Nigeria.

In the 2023 Nigerian gubernatorial elections, Lawal won on the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) ticket defeating the APC’s Bello Matawalle, who was the incumbent governor.

Having served as the executive director of First Bank of Nigeria Plc’s Public Sector North, Dauda Lawal is a well-known figure in the Nigerian banking industry and is recognised as one of the main actors in the country’s financial industry. He began his professional career in 1989 as a political education officer with the Agency for Popular Mobilization for Social and Economic Development Nigeria.

He began working for Westex Nigeria Ltd in 1989 as an assistant general manager. He was hired in 1994 as an assistant consular officer (immigration), and then promoted to chief protocol officer, at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington, D.C., in the United States.

Lawal joined First Bank of Nigeria Plc in May 2003 as a relationship manager for commercial banking. She later served as senior manager for the Abuja Area office, business development manager for Abuja, head PSG II, assistant general manager (business development manager) for Maitama, deputy general manager (business development manager) for Maitama, and group head public sector for Abuja. Lawal was promoted to executive vice president, public sector, North, of First Bank of Nigeria Plc between October 2010 and September 2011. He joined First Bank of Nigeria Plc in September 2012 as executive director, Public Sector North.

Lawal received a B.Sc. in political science from Ahmadu Bello University in 1987. He earned a PhD in business administration from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and an M.Sc. in political science and international relations from the same institution in 1992. He then continued his education by enrolling in courses at illustrious institutions like the London School of Economics, Harvard Business School, Oxford University Business School, Lagos Business School, and others. In 2006 and 2009, Lawal received the FirstBank CEO Merit Award for Excellent Performance as the “Best Business Development Manager” and “The Most Enterprising Staff,” respectively.
