Award winning Nigerian record producer, singer and songwriter, Don Jazzy, has applaudably risen from humble beginnings to firmly impress his footprints in the Nigerian music scene and beyond.
Founder and CEO of Mavin Records, Jazzy previously came to national attention in Nigeria as co-owner of the defunct top rated Mo’ Hits Records label which hosted a-listers including Dbanj, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid and D’Prince.
Born and raised in the rural area of Ajegunle, Lagos, Nigeria, the 38 year old music boss before delving into music and kicking off his illustrious career first discovered his interest in music at age 12. He began to play the bass guitar and piano and continued developing his skill till adulthood. Don Jazzy later enrolled in business management studied at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo state.
The year 2000 ushered in a window at success when his uncle offered him an invitation to play the drums at a local church in London. While still holding on to music, he got employed at McDonald’s as a security guard, he continued his craft and soon after met Solek, JJC, Kas, jesse jagz, The 419 Squad and D’Banj.
2004, was quite instrumental for the then rising producer Don Jazzy, teaming up with D’Banj, Mo’ Hits Records was born. Nigerians couldn’t get enough and for the next two years it was multiple hit tracks back to back; Don Jazzy produced megahit albums including No Long Thing. He also played an instrumental role in the production of Wande Coal’s Mushin 2 MoHits album – dubbed one of the best albums in the Nigerian entertainment scene.
In 2011, Don Jazzy also notably teamed up with Jay-Z and Kanye West on the production of Lift Off, featuring Beyoncé on the album Watch The Throne which was released on 8 August 2011.
In 2012, Don Jazzy announced the birth of his new record label, Mavin Records. Rema and Ayra Start are his most signees.

Don Jazzy is a proud recipient of prestigious awards including;

The Headies 2011 – Producer of the Year for Over The Moon, Mr Endowed and Pop Something.
The Headies 2014 – Producer of the Year for Dorobucci.
City People Entertainment Award (2015) – special recognition award among others.
