Adedamola Aminu is one of the Nigerians undertaking great scholarly and political work in the UK.
He was chosen in 2006, to serve as a Labour Party councilor in Lambeth’s Brixton district’s Tulse Hill Ward.
After being chosen as Lambeth’s Deputy Mayor in 2013–2014, he later held the position of Mayor of London Borough of Lambeth in 2014–2015, 27 years after he migrated to United Kingdom as a Grade-II Teacher. His book, Nigerian Politicians in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland: A Book of Profiles, was published in 2015. The book covers the contributions made by members of parliament, mayors, and council members as well as the accomplishments of first- and second-generation Nigerians in the UK.
