AFRIMA: Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido Win Big

Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, has once more demonstrated his status as an “African Giant” by earning the Best Act in Africa title at the eighth annual All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).

In addition, he was named the winner of the Best Album of the Year award, defeating competitors including Didi B from Côte d’Ivoire and South African Kabza De Small.
Didi B, an Ivorian artist, won the Song of the Year Award, nevertheless.

Wizkid, who won Best Act in West Africa, Davido, who won Best Male Act in African Inspirational Music, and Adekunle Gold, who won Best Act Group in African Contemporary Music and Best Act, Duo or Group in African Pop with Davido, were among the other Nigerian singers to receive awards on the evening.

Manamba Kanye, a singer from Guinea, won the title of Best Female Act in West Africa.
The four-day music festival to honor African music legends culminated with the awards night, which was hosted in the 15,000-seat Dakar Arena in Diamniadio, Senegal.

Rapper Black Sherif from Ghana and Psquare were among the acts who performed at the glitzy occasion.
