Funsho Adeolu Adegeye: Nigerian actor, MC

Funsho Adeolu Adegeye was born on May 9, 1968, to Mrs. Hannah Tunmise Adeyemi and Pa. Felix Adeolu, a successful businessman who ran a sports equipment store at the National Stadium in Lagos. He works in the film industry as an actor, director, and producer.

Funsho is a native of Okitipupa in the Ikale region of Ondo State in southwest Nigeria, despite being born in Lagos.

He has regularly received credit for the film Countdown at Kusini, which starred the late Oba Funsho Adeolu, the Alaaye of Ode Remo, after whom he took his surname who played Chief Eleyinmi in the old Nigerian Sitcom “The Village Headmaster”. He appeared in the 2012 Nigerian drama movie Heroes and Zeroes.

Funsho and Victoria Iboro Adeolu, whom he married in 2004, have two sons together.

Funsho attended Lady Lak Primary School in Ebute-Metta before moving on to Ansar-Ud-Deen in Isolo, Lagos. Additionally, he attended Baptist Academy in Obanikoro, where he completed his A-Levels (1987-1988).

He graduated from Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti, now known as Ekiti State University (EKSU), with a bachelor’s degree in guidance and counseling in 1994.
After finishing his first-degree program, he also completed a pre-degree program in advertising and public relations.

Funsho made his acting debut in the action film Cool Red in 1976 when he was just 7 years old. However, he gained enormous notoriety in 2001 when he made an appearance in the Wale Adenuga television series Oh Father Oh Daughter.

In 2007 he earned the Thema Movie Award, and in 2018 he was given the City People Movie Special Recognition Award.

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola

Solomon Olamilekan Adeola CON, better known as Yayi, was born to Ayinde Adeola Ogunleye and Abeeni Olasunbo Ogunleye (née Akinola), on August 10, 1969, in Lagos Island Maternity Hospital.

He is a senator from Lagos West and a politician from Nigeria. He presided over the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts from 2011 to 2015. In addition, he is a chartered accountant and belongs to the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

He started his schooling at the State Primary School in Alimosho, Lagos, where he spent his formative years. For his secondary studies, he continued on to Community Grammar School in Akowonjo, Lagos. Later, he transferred to the Ondo State Polytechnic in Owo, Ondo State, which is now Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, where he earned a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting.

Adeola spent 12 years working for The Guardian Newspapers Limited, a prestigious publisher of newspapers in Nigeria, and eventually advanced to the rank of Accountant.

After a few years of leading the audit team at Olatunji Omoyeni & Co, a chartered accounting firm, Adeola was given the opportunity to advance to the position of Senior Auditor. Later, he founded SOOTEM Nigeria Limited, where he served as managing director and chief executive officer for the business that specialized in tax consultancy.
He received the title of Commander Of The Order Of The Niger (CON) from President Muhammadu Buhari in October 2022.
