Music celebrities gathered to celebrate the opening of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria’s new office in the Lekki district of Lagos State.

Sunny Ade, alias KSA, a Juju master and previous association president, joined other music and cinema legends to the building’s official opening.

Pretty Okafor, the current president of the organization, stated his happiness that PMAN finally had a suitable workplace. In addition to housing the association’s corporate office, the structure will provide equal access to all performing artists working in the nation, he said.

Okafor stressed the significance of new artists joining the organisation. “If artistes want to travel outside the country to perform at events, PMAN provides cover letters for them. I have written a lot of such letters for artistes.

“PMAN helps artistes with proper documentation, so that they can get work permits anywhere in the world.”

While this was going on, KSA, the person who cut the ribbon on the building, praised Okafor and his crew for their “excellent work.” He continued by saying that the building will be crucial in moving the association to the following stage of its development.

He said: “It is my delight that this is happening while I am alive. This edifice means a lot to the reputation of PMAN, under the administration of Mr President (Okafor). I was once a president (of the association) and I know what it entails. This is a dream come true for many of us here today. I am happy this has happened, and I urge all warring factions (of the association) and those aggrieved to sheath their swords and come together in unity, so that peace can reign.”
