Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly called AKA, is a South African rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur. Born in Cape Town, South Africa, AKA had a breakthrough in music with his single “Victory Lap” from his debut album, Alter Ego. The successful release of this album was certified gold by RiSA and also won the 2012 South African Music Awards for Best Male Artist of the Year. With his growing sensational exuberance in music, AKA went on to release his second album, Levels, in 2014. The album was in 2014 certified platinum and double platinum in 2018 by RiSA
AKA has had a cordial collaboration with other Africa music acts like Burna Boy, Stonebwoy, Khuli Chana, and more.
The South African rapper is a recipient of several awards; Most Valuable Artist at the 2015 South African Hip Hop Awards; Favorite South African Star at the 2019 Kids’ Choice Awards.
